My research interests focus on misogyny in mass media, particularly advertising and strategic communication. I am interested in how media reinforce or challenge patriarchal values, shape public perceptions of women, feminism, and gender equality, and influence audiences' beliefs and behaviors. My current scholarship examines gender and representation in cheerleading, including a forthcoming book chapter, "For the Love of All Things Cheerleading: An Insider's View," in The Cheer Reader: Inside an American Institution (University of Texas Press, October 2026).
