My research interests are in the media effects area of communication. My work explores how audiences form attitudes towards both real and fictional entertainment media figures. I am particularly interested in how perceptual processes such as moral judgement differ across contexts, and how they impact what features of characters we find appealing. I also take interest in extending this out to narrative persuasion, investigating how attitude formation can be leveraged towards practical ends. In my free time, I enjoy writing horror fiction and listening to psychedelic rock.
